Hey there!
I’m Jamie Shannon. I’m a singer, actor, and teaching artist based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
I currently teach voice, acting, and piano lessons virtually and in person from my home studio. I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from The Boston Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Mississippi College.
While attending Boston Conservatory, I served as the Voice & Speech department’s teaching assistant where I gained experience dialect coaching and private tutoring. This cultivated a love for working behind the scenes with actors helping them with dialects and efficient voice production for the stage.
Recent performances include: Diana in Next to Normal (The Longwood Players), Amy in Theory of Relativity (The Boston Conservatory), and Dorothy in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (College Light Opera Company).
I am married to composer and bandleader, Warren Ertle. We had the privilege of ringing in 2020 with our GreenLight Jazz Orchestra at First Night Boston. We currently offer customizable jazz ensembles for events.
Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly is a way to make your soul grow. . . so do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.
-Kurt Vonnegut
